In honor of the ACE Family Members lost throughout the years, ACE honors their contributions to dentistry with the ACE Legacy Award.
Each year, ACE will award a scholarship to one deserving dental professional to that year's ACE Annual Symposium. The scholarship includes:
ACE is proud to announce that the winner of the 2012 ACE Legacy Award is Dr. Kendall Jones of Key West, FL. "After reviewing this year's applicants, it was clear that Dr. Jones is very deserving of this great honor", says Dr. Tim Hale, ACE co-owner and Legacy Award Chairman. This year's Honoree is Dr. Steven Lynch, ACE Member, who passed away in 2010.
Dr. Jones graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in 2006, and was commissioned into the US Air Force Dental Corps. For three years he had the opportunity to work in the armed services, specifically on B1 Lancer Bomber pilots.
In 2009 he finished his active duty commitment with the US Air Force and moved to Key West, Fl. Dr. Jones worked in several different settings, including a sliding fee scale clinic, a private practice, our local jail, and an office that was based on serving Medicaid patients. These many locales have given him a unique perspective regarding different types of practices as well as different populations of patients. He worked part time in most of these locations until he was invited to be an associate in Dr. Bill Goldner's practice.
Dr. Jones has always placed a premium on Continuing Education, but with a new wife and 14 month old son after being in the Air Force for three years, he has not really been financially able to pursue the specific types of education that he has desired. Dr. Goldner soon introduced him to the ACE family. As he began going through the forums and seeing what ACE has to offer, he realized that this was the type of peer group and camaraderie he was looking to learn from. He quickly realized that ACE was not only an organization with forums for solely cosmetic dentistry but rather a varying study of dental practices which would help usher him into a more comprehensive practice of dentistry. "I appreciate having the ability to connect with many people from many different backgrounds, and I want my dentistry to be able to do the same", says Dr. Jones.
Upon hearing that he was selected for the award, which includes his expense paid trip to the 2012 ACE Mastermind Event, he said "It is with humbleness and great appreciation that I am presented with this award. I cannot express to you how excited and proud I am!"
Congratulations again to Dr. Kendall Jones! We are all looking forward to meeting you in October!

2012's ACE Legacy Award Honoree is Dr. Steven Lynch of Oxford, Alabama. He will always be remembered as a great dentist and long-standing member of ACE/GenR8Next. Steven was very philanthropic and involved in multiple foreign mission trips in at least ten different countries with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, SIFAT, and Operation SMILE. At the time of his death in 2010, he was President of the Alabama Cosmetic Dental Association. He was always forthcoming with advice and wisdom to help guide many ACE members through difficult situations. Steven will be remembered by the many lives that he touched through his service to God, his family, his staff, his patients and to us, his ACE Family. We'll miss you Steve.
